FUEL League Basketball

The FUEL league is run and organized by Sound Christian Academy.  The focus on winning is secondary to the importance of the joy in participating and learning! SCA and league policy requires that all participants have the opportunity to have equal playing time as much as possible.

Fall/Winter FUEL League

3rd - 6th Grade boys & girls
The cost to play in the league is $60 per child.
For families that need to purchase a jersey or want to purchase one, the cost is $20-$25 with tax.
This basketball league consists of ten schools in the greater Tacoma area, including Sound Christian.

Spring FUEL Basketball Clinics

 4th - 6th Grade boys & girls
5 Days of Instructional Clinics PLUS  3-on-3 or 4-on-4 Games
Cost: $65.  T-shirt will be given to the championship teams.  Gatorade will be given as prizes.
This opportunity is open to all area schools and kids in the community.

Goals of the FUEL League

1. Provide positive opportunities for athletes of all skill levels.
2.If there are enough kids for two teams, then two teams will be created.  These teams will then compete with other kids at similar experience levels for confidence and to reduce injuries.
3. There are two divisions in the Fall/Winter FUEL league (Blue and Black). Depending on how teams compete in the jamboree, the teams will be bracketed in one of those divisions to give kids the most positive playing experience.
4. This format allows ALL athletes to experience the joy of understanding the game at their experience level.
5. If two teams are needed, the goal is to put athletes on a team where they will play and touch the ball. Playing is how kids get better! Therefore, if there are enough kids for 2 teams, evaluations are done.
6. In the FUEL league, all games will have at least one adult referee on the floor.
7.As always, no cuts will ever occur! All kids will be placed on a team where they can improve and grow.
8.When there are only enough kids for one team, then all that will need to be decided is whether the blue division or black division is the best fit for them.
