The Director of Athletics is under the delegated authority of administration in matters of policy, and in matters relating to planning, coordinating, controlling, and evaluating the athletic program of Tacoma Baptist Schools (TBS). The athletic director must be adept in the areas of leadership, administration, personnel, and fiscal management. He/she must be self-motivated and well organized with training and experience in physical education, athletics, and coaching. Additional assignments may be given as the needs of the program dictate. Job Requirements:
•Manage and maintain TBS athletic policy within the school and the league and in connection with WIAA regulations
•Recruit, hire, and evaluate all athletic personnel as well as ensure they are carrying out their responsibilities
•Develop and support the school’s PS through 12th grade physical education program.
•Maintain all equipment, gym scheduling and maintenance, and organize lockers/locker rooms.
•Ensure student welfare and eligibility including maintaining release forms, waivers, physicals, and meeting WIAA requirements
•Manage athletic budget and uniform/equipment inventory
•Oversee the entire athletic program including schedules, gym and field use, officials, event transportation, supervision of home events, liaison and host for visiting teams, award events, homecoming activities, off-season activities, athletic sponsorships
•Attend league, district, tri-district, and WIAA meetings
•Communicate with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, participants, and the media regarding schedules, changes, eligibility, and other athletic matters
